OVER 18? Yep
CHARACTERS IN-GAME: Raphtalia (The Rising of the Shield Hero)
▶ CHARACTER
NAME: Rikka Takanashi
CANON: Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions (Chuunibyou demo koi ga shitai)
CANON POINT: Episode 9, after conversing with Dekomori about the evil force possessing Yuuta -- but before talking to Nibutani about the true meaning of her feelings.
AGE: 16
BACKGROUND: Wiki!
PERSONALITY: Rikka Takanashi is a mundane high-schooler, wholly defined by her case of chunibyou, or "eighth-grader syndrome." She wears a yellow contact underneath a medical eyepatch (which she calls the "Tyrant's Eye", or "Wicked Lord Shingan"), carries a springloaded umbrella known as the schwarzsechs prototype mk ii, and believes her sister is part of an evil organization suppressing her search for the invisible boundary lines.
Let's back up for a moment.
Rikka Takanashi is a mundane high-schooler who hasn't processed the grief associated with her father's death, and who uses delusions of grandeur and magical illusions to cope. She believes she saw him beyond the ethereal horizon, past invisible boundary lines, and that he's watching over her -- a belief she holds at her core until the end of the series, when she's finally able to mature enough to say her goodbyes.
Her persona and attitude were inspired by Yuuta, her sister's neighbor, as she spied on him playing out his own chunibyou delusions. While it helps her understand the world around her, it alienates her from the rest of her family, as well as her peers. She believes her grandparents' house is the evil Bureau's headquarters and that her sister is one of their evil agents. Before the last third of the series, she hasn't spoken to her own mother in years.
She is drawn to Yuuta as the "Dark Flame Master," the old identity that he shed when they both started high school. She even processes the feelings she develops for him in chunibyou fashion, believing he's possessed by an evil spirit and that's why she can't look him in the eyes without her heart racing.
Rikka is most comfortable when roping other people into her world, which is why she starts the Far Eastern Magical Society (later renamed twice to get more members, with the final title "The Far Eastern Magical Naping Society... of Summer").
She is impressionable, first falling prey to her delusions after witnessing them in someone else, although she does come up with some quite original concepts -- The Bureau's reach and influence, viewing cats as chimeras, etc. She rather quickly accepts that she is in love with Yuuta when Nibutani points it out, beginning to follow her advice, however clumsy. She's even willing to throw away her delusions when Yuuta tells her to do so.
Without her chunibyou, doing her best to act "normal," Rikka gives it her all. She straightforwardly asks classmates if they'll be her friends; she sings in the school festival's talent show; she disbands the club.
She is not the smartest cookie, failing at schoolwork until the threat of having the club disbanded forces her to study harder. (She still doesn't do well, but she manages to exceed the class average score.)
Rikka, when trading email addresses with Yuuta, wants to change her ordinary screen name. She says it's okay, and that she won't have to tell many people, because he and her sister are the only ones in the world who recognize her existence. (This may be a slight continuity slip-up; she has one single friend who is exclusive to the anime, Dekomori, who she is clearly in contact with. They mutually claim that Dekomori was Rikka's servant in a past life and act out the master-servant relationship as part of their chunibyou act.) As further incentive for studying to keep the club from being dissolved, Yuuta promises to grant her a new email address -- "black raison d'etre", which she finds to be the coolest thing since... the last thing he's told her, probably.
She's simultaneously very independent and very sheltered: Rikka shows no reservations about running away from her grandparents' house over summer vacation and taking a train all the way back to her sister's place, but in the same series of episodes, she explains that she's never had convenience-store onigiri because her sister has forbidden her from eating anything other than her cooking.
Even though Rikka works through her grief by the end of the series, she adopts her alternate personality once more with renewed vigor because she, and those around her, have accepted that it's just part of who she is for the time being.
POWERS/ABILITIES: The power of imagination and nothing else.

(2) Her umbrella, the Schwarzsechs Mk II Prototype.
